True to its commitment to disseminate scholarly knowledge and support academic research, Leuven University Press supports Open Access. Besides green OA or so-called ‘self-archiving’ Leuven UP also offers the golden OA scenario where the book appears in full Open Access from the first day of publication.

In order to stimulate authors to publish their work according to the Fair Open Access principles, KU Leuven has established the  KU Leuven Fund for Fair OA [https://lup.be/pages/ku-leuven-fund-for-fair-open-access]. Regardless of an author’s affiliation, this fund provides financial support to publish eligible OA books with Leuven University Press.

How to apply?

Submitting a book proposal for consideration by Leuven University Press is the first step. Following positive advice from the press’s editorial board, you can apply for financial support from the KU Leuven Fund for Fair Open Access. To submit a manuscript or proposal, contact  [publish at lup.be].
