The MA programme in Religious Studies is designed to provide the opportunity for students to study the religious history of Europe in depth from a number of perspectives. It combines the systematic approaches of Religious Studies and Historical Anthropology with the methodological tools of the Cultural Sciences and Philology to analyze religious phenomena in Europe's complex and pluralistic societies.

The programme aims to:

• provide a basic knowledge of the religious history of Europe

• provide a profound knowledge of one religious tradition and its cultural context

• enable students to use the methodological tools for analysing religious fields

• enable students to do independent research in the field of Cultural Studies
