The tenth volume Varia concludes the publication of the Collected Essay by the eminent Zurich Hellenist and Historian of Religion Walter Burkert (1931–2015). It supplements the series with articles on Philologica, contributions to lexica and encyclopaedias, reviews, obituaries and casual writings, which document Burkert's impressive public outreach, as well as with interviews and further statements on his own work (‘Burkert on Burkert’). The volume furthermore collects the reactions of the academic world to his death in 2015, which illustrate the international resonance of Burkert’s work. It concludes with an appendix containing an updated short biography and the completed list of publications by this exceptionally innovative and influential scholar.
