The proceedings of the conference are continuation of the work on taxation and epigraphy started five years ago. While most of the reports presented at the first conference were dedicated to the western provinces of the empire, with particular attention to Africa, in the second conference and volume more attention is given the eastern provinces. The results achieved concern multiple aspects of Roman taxation, focused on various types of inscriptions, from microscale to macroscale, in a multi-faceted study of a Roman world that was as extremely diverse as ours.
