((Jaap Mansfeld has kindly shared this information, as the presentation and celebration have had to be postponed because of the pandemic.))

On July 2nd, 2020, Brill Publishers has published Aëtiana V by Professors Jaap Mansfeld (Utrecht) and David Runia (Melbourne, previously Leiden). With its four volumes and nearly 2300 pages, this final part of the Aëtiana series marks the completion of the entire Aetiana project, on which Jaap Mansfeld and David Runia have worked together for thirty years.

Aëtiana V provides a reconstruction of the text of the doxographer Aëtius (c. 50 CE), one of the most important sources for the study of ancient philosophy. In addition to a text with critical apparatus, Mansfeld and Runia provide a full commentary, a translation and an apparatus of parallels and references charting the relevant traditions and history of the reception of philosophical doctrines. Aëtiana V is certain to become an indispensable tool for the study of ancient natural philosophy in particular.
