Sie ist das offizielle Archiv f\u00fcr digitale Dissertationen der Library of Congress sowie die zentrale Datenbank f\u00fcr wissenschaftliche Abschlussarbeiten und umfasst einen Zeitraum teilweise zur\u00fcckreichend bis 1861. \u00dcber eine Million Arbeiten k\u00f6nnen im PDF-Format heruntergeladen werden, weitere rund 2 Millionen Titel stehen als kostenpflichtiger Ausdruck zur Verf\u00fcgung. Mehr als 70.000 neue Dissertationen und Abschlussarbeiten kommen jedes Jahr hinzu.
